FinEst   Volunteers   in Finland

WHAT DO WE DO?

In Northern Savonia, our Finnish, Estonian and Ukrainian volunteers help Ukrainians living in the area every day.

We collect and deliver clothes, food, furniture and hobby equipment to families.

We help with all aspects of everyday life: taking care of official matters (Kela, DVV, reception center), making school and job applications, booking doctor's appointments.

Supporting integration and community is an important part of volunteer work. We organize trips, events, craft clubs, psychological support groups and other events where Ukrainians are active participants.

Respecting Ukrainian culture and traditions is one of our core values.

We raise funds by organizing charity concerts and by setting up stalls at local markets.

Ukrainian children's and adult music groups perform at our concerts.

We support them, for example, by purchasing musical instruments and sponsoring them with a car and its operating costs.

Every year we participate in and/or organize dozens of events.

A WEEK AS A VOLUNTEER IN FINLAND

During the week, we did the following:
-we took care of official matters and filled out applications for Kela, the unemployment Office and DVV
-we booked doctor's appointments and participated in the treatment meeting
-we collected, transported, sorted, packed and loaded aid goods going to Ukraine
-we collected food, bicycles, aids, clothes and furniture for people living in Finland and delivered them
-we arranged home accommodation and took care of the family's move from another location to a new home
-we answered countless calls and messages, kept in touch with donors and partners
-we delivered and mailed small gifts from Ukraine to those who supported our work

The week also included participating in school graduation celebrations with the Ukrainian team of the Kuopio Youth Services, assisting and financially supporting the Children's Summer Festival, planning the upcoming event's pop-up café and workshop at Kuopio Taidetori, and organizing a volunteer group.
Finnish and Ukrainian volunteers in North Savo give an invaluable amount of their time, expertise, help, and support, and drive thousands of kilometers annually in relief work. All of this is done at their own expense and without compensation.
However, we need money for food and hygiene supplies, event supplies and material costs, and travel and accommodation costs for family reunions.
With your help, our activities in Finland can continue!

We collect and transport requested relief goods to Ukraine, either ourselves or with our partners.

Would you like to donate goods? See what we collect here and if you have suitable products to offer us, contact us here

In January 2026, we collected donations and sent them to Ukraine with our partners, most of the donations went to the Veteran Hub in Lutsk. In early February, we transported a large generator donated from Belgium together with the Concrete Help to Ukraine Association.
